Fish Tacos with Purple Cabbage and Yogurt Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Tacos:

  • 4 white fish fillets (tilapia, cod, or halibut)
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas

For the Purple Cabbage Slaw:

  • 2 cups shredded purple cabbage
  • 1 medium carrot, grated
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste

For the Yogurt Sauce:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp honey
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional Garnishes:

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Avocado slices
  • Lime wedges

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Fish:

  1. Pat the fish fillets dry and season them with cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the fish for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and flaky. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

2. Make the Cabbage Slaw:

  1. In a bowl, combine shredded purple cabbage, grated carrot, lime juice, olive oil, and salt. Toss well to coat and set aside.

3. Prepare the Yogurt Sauce:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, lime juice, minced garlic, honey, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Adjust seasonings to taste.

4. Assemble the Tacos:

  1. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
